“friends”

I lost a friend for the first time in 2nd grade when my best friend moved to another school. I cried.

I didn’t lose another until high school. She literally declared the friendship over because high school pulled us apart, when in reality we’re neighbors and we never even went to school together. I don’t think I cried.

Sophomore year, my best friend from freshman year dropped me as a friend bc I was too spoiled and sheltered when in reality I just never had to take the bus as a CHILD and got the THINGS I wanted in life. I believe I cried.

Junior year, I had a group of really close friends. Senior year it was broken into sections bc certain ppl couldn’t get along and couldn’t deal with each others issues.

Freshman year of college, I have about 2 and a half of that big group left. And one of my best friends from hs has replaced me with her dorm roommates. It’s fine to have new friends, but the throw away to old just shows how heartless you are and how meaningless the friendship must’ve been to you. Is this like kindergarten where you feel like u can only have 1 best friend? I never thought I’d miss and regret one thing so much at the same time.

And its no wonder I never tried to make new close friends in college. I was a great fucking friend to a lot of ppl and a lot of them left me bc they found new friends.

I’m going to end this with a quote: “Make new friends, but keep the old. One is silver and the other’s gold. A circle is round, it has no end. That’s how long I want to be your friend.”

I know its corny but its so true. Some people need to girlscouts and learn about this, cuz its clearly a lesson they didn’t learn.
